Can a 4g card work in a SV-av100?
« on: September 13, 2006, 06:57:37 PM »

Is there a way to use a  4g non panasonic memory card  in an SV-av100? If not what will it do If I try to format the card for the camera? Sure would be nice to have that much storage. Thanks. Picasso

Hi, can anybody answer this question?  I followed this link
 http://zyvid.com/smf/index.php?PHPSESSID=60629cf62996d5472eedc2f9f74179f0&topic=270.0
but seems to not exist anymore.  If a greater than 2 Gig SD card will work, any suggestion which one?  I
guess SDHC cards are out of the question since the SV-AV100 was manufactured before
such cards exists.

Please do a quick search before posting.

All the information you need can be found by searching on "4GB" in the main search box.

The short answer is yea and no. It will read the card but it can not format it or do other stuff. Save yourself the headache and just use the 2GB cards. Carry a couple. At 44  minutes for MPEG 2 video, thats a respectable recording time. Besides, 2GB cards are so cheap now.
